Check your boundaries
Firstly the fencing surrounding your garden needs to be dog proof to stop any risk of your dog escaping. Check the full boundary of your garden and if you have a small dog or a puppy - remember many dogs are masters at fitting through tiny gaps! If you have a pond or a swimming pool a fence should be in place to stop your dog getting access to these areas unsupervised.
